PFM Low Light - 2025 Vintage
PFM Low
We knew it would happen, honestly, it happens every year. With that said, we are a little surprised how early in the year the PFM Low Light illuminated. The 25 Pure F!@#$%^ Magic is the same 100% Grenache made as a white wine just like we have done since 2022. Perfectly clear and insanely delicious, the PFM sets the standard for a fun, easy drinking, poundable wine.
From my aviation background, the low light is most often associated with fuel. Operating fighter aircraft, especially around the aircraft carrier, fuel is always a concern. Seems there is never enough (unless you are on fire.) When I was flying I checked fuel levels at least once every five seconds. One of those habit patterns learned from day one in flight school. As a current flight instructor, I make certain every student knows to scan fuel and divert options at least once every thirty seconds, if not more often. Pays off as things always go unexpectedly, more often in fighters.
When a fuel low situation or any emergency occurs, pilots have a standard manner of dealing with the issue. As a process based operation and culture, pilots are trained to follow a set of procedures most likely to solve the problem and get the jet on deck or to safety in the most efficient manner. Those procedures are often codified into a checklist so the pilot has a reference to their training and the appropriate steps required. For a PFM Low Light it might look something like below. For those unfamiliar with Navy/Marine Corps NATOPS checklists, the * denotes Immediate Action steps pilots are required to memorize and are tested on regularly.
