Harvest 2014 is progressing nicely here in Paso Robles. A lot of folks have asked regarding how the drought affected us this year. The vineyards have produced slightly lower yields (less fruit per acre) but the quality is exceptional. Most of the vineyard we use are not loaded with water to begin with so, fortunately, there has not been a huge effect on us this year. With that said, would love to get some quality precip later this year.
As a progress update, our first white wine (actually white Rhone varietals from three different vineyards) is tucked away in neutral barrels and every week Hal visits the wines though in order to stir the lees. The first reds just finished fermentation and we are expecting our final grapes later this week.
